Busy weekend of hurling championship action

Both Longford and Leitrim are in Birmingham for their championship outings

It is set to be a busy weekend of GAA action for a number of hurling teams from the region. In the Christy Ring cup , Roscommon welcome Meath to Ballyforan tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm. Both sides are in search of their first points having suffered defeats to Derry and Kerry respectively in the first round. In the Lory Meagher cup Leitrim will hoping to make it back to back wins when they take on Lancashire in Birmingham on Sunday at 12pm. Paric Na hEireann will play host to a double header as Longford take on Warwickshire at 2pm.

There is a number of key championship fixtures in the provincial competitions. In Munster, Tipperary take on Cork in Semple Stadium while Galway and Kilkenny meet in Pearse Park in the Leinster championship
