The countdown is on to the Hotel Kilmore Cavan Stages rally this weekend which is round 3 of the Triton Showers National rally championship and a counting round of the Sligo Pallets Border championship as well as the Dacia Sandero challenge cup and club championship. Josh Moffett and Keith Moriarty are the number 1 seeds as the Monaghan man returns back to his Hyundai I20 with Eddie Doherty and Tom Murphy at number 2 in the Skoda. Sam Moffet and Shane Buckley complete the top 3 seeds in a Hyundai, with Rob Barrable, Gary Jennings, and Declan Boyle some of those included inside the top 10. The quality of the entry sees the top modified seeds Kevin Gallagher and and Ryan Moore at number 21 in their Darrian T90.
Headquarters for the rally is the Hotel Kilmore with the crews competing over the usual format of 3 stages 3 times. An added addition to this years event is a ceremonial start on Saturday evening in the centre of Cavan town. Seamus Cooke is deputy Clerk of the course and he remarked it is something new that will should bring the sport to more people
