Locals in south Longford are banding together in opposition towards a planned solar farm near Keenagh and Ballymahon.
Foigha Solar Farm Limited is seeking to build a solar farm and energy storage compound with a total area of 130 hectares.
The proposed development will consist of a solar farm comprising of 661,500 square metres of solar photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames

It would also feature an energy storage compound consisting of 38 containerised energy storage modules, ten transformers and one medium voltage control / switching substation.
The planning application is currently being considered by Longford County Planners
