Barry Sheil wrote himself in the history books becoming the first Longford man to win the Longford Marathon.
Sheil captured the men’s title in two hours 36 minutes 28 seconds with his clubmate Donal Mulligan taking second place in two hours 40 minutes 30 seconds.
It was celebrations on the double for Longford A.C as Niamh Kiernan landed the women’s title.
