The National Association of General Practitioners says it is still seeking clarification on plans for an abortion service in the event of the Eighth Amendment being repealed.
This week, Cabinet will discuss draft legislation to regulate abortion if the referendum is passed.
On the Joe Finnegan Show on Monday, Dr Judy Ceannt, a GP at Carrick Medical Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon, spoke about her opposition to altering the Constitution.
According to Dr Ceannt ''The reality is that abortion is the killing of another human being'' but she also said that she would never use this language with patients as it was ''not a compassionate approach''
Dr Peter Boylan is chairman of the institutes of obstetricians and gynecologists - he is also campaigning for repeal of the eighth amendment.
He spoke to us on Tuesday's show saying ''it is a wrong place to have such an amendment - it has caused great difficulty and harm to women over the years''
