Ireland's bail system is cumbersome, inefficient and haphazard.
That's according to a new review, commissioned by Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan, which recommends 15 key changes.
The report follows calls from the family of a Monaghan man who was killed in a hit in a run 14 years ago.
Shane O'Farrell was killed, at the age of 23, in August 2011 near Carrickmacross when he was struck by a car driven by a person who was on bail for a series of offences at the time.
The review into bail conditions was carried out by senior counsel, Lorcan Staines. He spoke to Eoghan Murphy on the JF Show.
