''I hope no family ever has to endure such pain again''

Martina and Larry Hayes from Athlone and Lorna Carty from Meath were among 38 people killed when a lone gunman opened fire at a tourist complex in Sousse in June 2015.

A verdict of unlawful death was returned at the inquest into their deaths yesterday.

Giving evidence, 33-year-old Sinead Hayes the only child of Martina and Laurence Hayes, from Westlodge, Athlone, Co Westmeath said the couple went on holiday to mark their wedding anniversary.

Martina's brother Billy Kelly told the Joe Finnegan Show he hoped ''no family would ever had to endure such pain again'' and he appealed to world leaders to deal with gun crime.
