There has been divided opinion in Ballaghaderreen about the news that the Abbeyfield Hotel in the town is to house about 80 mostly Syrian refugees.

The disused property in the Roscommon town is to become an emergency reception and orientation centre for two years to help with the migrant crisis.
The company who will run it will have confirmed they’ll employ as many local people as possible.
