LISTEN: Longford campaign against new 'food tax' intensifies

Hundreds of people in Longford town have signed a petition against a new tax on food supplements.

Currently, no VAT applies on vitamins, minerals and other products, but Revenue is to impose a 23-per-cent tax from next month.

A major national campaign is under way calling on Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe to reverse the decision.

More than 500 people in Longford town have signed a petition against the tax.

It's being organised by Golden Health Store in Grafton Court - its manager, Angie Myles, feels it could badly hit her business.

She spoke to Eoghan Murphy on Tuesday's Bottom Line, first explaining that it's a longstanding business in Longford town.
