Produced and narrated by radio presenter Mike Mulvihill (Power Play on Shannonside Northern Sound), The Showband Years tells the story of the impact of showbands had on local communities in county Leitrim.
Showcasing show band stars such as Stephen Travers and Shaun O’Dowd, local people and everyday heroes who organised and took part in dances during the Showband Years.
The story told by Mike and his guests will resonate with people who lived through those times and will constitute a discovery for the younger generations that will change their understanding of entertainment and life in yesteryears in the west of Ireland.
