MediaWise
In today's landscape, the demand for equipping ourselves with the skills and self-assurance to navigate and critically assess content and offerings across diverse platforms has never been greater. It is imperative to grasp the functioning of media and digital technology, to inquire and comprehend their operations, to detect and mitigate potential risks, and to actively engage in the public domain with responsibility, ethics, and efficacy. The purpose of this series is to elucidate the inner workings of the media in Ireland. It delves into the foundational regulatory framework that underlies content production for Radio and TV. Additionally, it explores how constitutional rights, including the presumption of innocence and the protection of one's reputation, shape the media's approach to covering matters such as criminal trials and other pertinent subjects. MediaWise is funded by Coimisiún na Meán with the Television Licence Fee.
