At the National Ploughing Championships near Tullamore, Co Offaly, this week, Independent Ireland MEP Ciaran Mullooly said he wants Maroš Šefčovič, the EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, to join him for a public debate on the EU Mercosur trade deal. He said farmers deserve clear, side-by-side answers on what the deal means for Irish agriculture and where the Commission stands, as he told Eoghan Murphy.
