It's been confirmed a Darkness into Light event in Boyle is set to return this year. It follows its cancellation in 2025 due to a lack of availability of committee members. An official event in Mullingar has been cancelled for May 9th, while the Darkness into Light walk will go ahead in Athlone despite an initial cancellation statement issued by Pieta. The annual fundraiser sees hundreds across the region walk at sunrise for suicide prevention charity Pieta. Five events are set to take place across the region - while none are scheduled in Co. Leitrim. Daniela Rana has been speaking to committee member Melissa Doohan, who's been welcoming the return of the event in Boyle:
