Minister Troy urges public to engage with consultation on Consumer Protection laws

Longford Westmeath TD Robert troy and Minister for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation is urging people across the region to engage with a new process that will look to update consumer laws in Ireland.

This week he announced the public consultation on the General Scheme of the Consumer Rights Bill 2021 to consolidate and modernise consumer protection legislation.

It's hoped that the law change will make consumer protection legislation easier to navigate, simpler to understand and strengthen protections for consumers. It will also create clearer rules for businesses and assist them in dealings with consumers.
