Daffodil Day is taking place today with many volunteers across Co. Longford turning towns and villages yellow in support of the Irish Cancer Society.
The annual fundraiser is one of the biggest charity events in Ireland, raising vital funds for cancer research and a range of free services for patients and their families.
These include night nursing care and transport services, which remain largely dependent on public donations.
Here in Longford, volunteers have been out since early morning collecting donations and raising awareness about the worthy cause.
