The National Irish Famine Way, which begins in Co. Roscommon, is set to expand to the United States this year. It's part of the Global Irish Famine Way project, which aims to install commemorations of the Great Famine around the world. The US Global Irish Famine Way follows the trail in Canada, which was established last year. Hilary T. Beirne is the Chairman Emeritus of the New York City St Patrick's Day Foundation and hails from Boyle. Daniela Rana spoke to him to find out more about this ambitious project:
