It's several years now since the people of Roscommon fought a long-running battle to save what has become of the region's most precious woodlands, Mote Park.
The Roscommon amenity was facing a major upheaval under plans by Coillte but thanks to strong local opposition, it was saved, and has since become one of the most tranquil and peaceful areas to take a stroll and enjoy seeing its famous squirrels as well as changing landscape throughout the seasons.
