Athlone has long been considered as strong base for vistors to explore the midlands.

One company who's taken advantage of that is Elevate Entertainment, a high tech entertainment centre located in the centre of Athlone.
The facility opened at the end of 2021 with indoor go karting, VR games, axe throwing, laser tag and conference facilities being just some of the offerings provided.
Running a business like Elevate in the current economic climate is not without its challanges though, with high energy costs and a shortage of accomadation key issues.
