PODCAST: Roscommon businessman slams VAT hike

There are fears that some local businesses will close because of the increase in VAT in the hospitality sector.

The tax for hotels and restaurants increased from January 1st from 9 to 13.5 per cent after it was cut in 2011 to help the sector withstand the downturn.

It is thought to have cost €2.6 billion.
