A Castlecoote native played a central role in bringing the Midlands' first-ever TEDx event to life, as TEDx Athlone drew a full house to the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone last Thursday night. MaryJo Neilan, marketing coordinator with TUS Athlone, served as co-organiser of the landmark event, working alongside lead organiser Orla Thornton to bring the globally recognised ideas platform to Athlone for the first time.
Speakers included Midlands-North-West MEP Ciaran Mullooly, Radio presenter Dave Duke, and vascular surgeon Dr Niamh Hynes. Darragh O'Connor has been speaking to MaryJo about the event:
