Castlerea MEP Luke 'Ming' Flanagan is hoping to return to the European Parliament next week, after getting a cyst removed from his jaw last weekend.
But he followed today's significant vote in relation to the Mercosur agreement remotely.
He told Eoghan Murphy he was delighted with the result, with the agreement referred to the European Court of Justice, and being delayed by up to two years.
