There were scenes of celebration in Roscommon yesterday as one local school returned home from the All-Ireland Drama finals with six awards. Transition Year students from Roscommon Community College swept the boards following their performance of Eclipsed in Macroom, Co Cork on Monday night. The school took home the awards for Overall winners; Best Directors; Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Set and Best Stage Crew. The students performed an powerful adaptation of the play which is set in 1960s Ireland and depicts the experiences of women living in a Magdalene laundry. Dan Dooner visited the school on Tuesday afternoon where he spoke to Isabelle Flynn and Steven Hoare as well as Ms Doyle, Ms Cleary and Ronan Kelly. Isabelle played 'Cathy' in the play while Steven was a member of the award-winning back stage crew:
