A total of 88 people have been fined for illegally parking on a footpath in the Shannonside region this year.
Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan says there have been 65 in Mayo, Roscommon and Longford - and 23 in Sligo-Leitrim.
The offence is a big inconvenience for wheelchair users and other vulnerable groups.
