PODCAST: 22,000 plus local children miss crucial health check

Over 22,000 local children have missed vital development checks over the past five years.

26 per cent of children locally missed the crucial 9-12-month Public Health Nurse check between 2020 and 2024.

Typically, during the check, Public Health Nurses check a baby's physical, social and behavioural development.

Staff shortages and the impact of the pandemic are being blamed for the delays.

Local Cllr Paul Ross, who's also a member of the Regional Health Forum Dublin Mid-Leinster feels greater steps are needed:
