Patrick Kavanagh - past present and future

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Irish poet, Patrick Kavanagh.

Family members, writers and poets gathered at his grave in Monaghon to pay tribute the Inniskeen native who died on the 30th of November 1967.

'Tarry Flynn' 'O stony grey soil' and ' On raglan road' are among his most popular works.

Comedian Katherine Lynch - a grandniece of Kavanagh - and President of the Patrick Kavanagh society Oliver Callan joined Anne Norris on the show to discuss the poet's life
