It's hoped that work could begin as soon as this autumn on a Digital Hub facility in Longford town.
Planning for the facility, which will be part of the wider Longford-Westmeath ETB campus on the Battery Road, was granted in 2017 and the project is being progressed as part of Just Transition plans.
It's hoped the digital hub will enhance the availability of further education and training on the Longford campus and the ETB has published a tender for Architectural and Design Consultancy Services for the project which will include the restoration of a former workshop into the digital hub.
Documents contained in the design proposal reveal that it is hoped to have a design ready by the end of quarter two of this year, with construction beginning in the autumn.
