A weather warning has been issued for part of the Shannonside region.
The status yellow rain warning for county Leitrim is coming into effect at 6pm this evening and is in effect until 6pm on Thursday evening.
Met Éireann is warning that there will be significant rainfall accumulations from heavy showers and longer spells of rain, as well as possible isolated thunderstorms.

The forecaster is also is warning of potential localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
