Longford County Council and local gardaí are warning the public to beware of individuals who are impersonating local authority staff.
The council has issued the warning online, stating that a silver Nissan jeep with a UK registration has been spotted in the north Longford area.
It was last seen in Ballinalee, with reports the occupants were impersonating Longford County Council staff and offering to carry out services for locals.
Gardaí in Longford are urging anyone with information on this vehicle or who witnessed anything suspicious, to contact them at Longford Garda Station.
The council have also informed the public that they do not take part in door to door work offers and is urging people to request identification of any unsolicited callers.
