A new videofluoroscopy service has been launched at Portiuncula hospital.
The new machine will facilitate an x-ray examination of the swallow and will be used for assessment, diagnosis and management of dysphagia.
The service is being led by the Speech and Language Therapy Department in partnership with the Radiology Department.

Fiona Brennan is a Senior Speech and Language Therapist at Portiuncula she says it's a welcome development at the hospital and will ensure patients don't have to travel elsewhere for the procedure
