Ukrainian refugees to face homelessness if hosting scheme is not extended

The scheme came into effect in July 2022 to encourage people to open their homes to Ukrainian refugees.

Up to 36 thousand Ukrainians could face homelessness here, if the government doesn't extend the Accommodation Recognition Payment Scheme.
The scheme came into effect in July 2022 to encourage people to open their homes to Ukrainian refugees.

However, the hosting support programme is due to expire on March 31st.
Emma Lane-Spollen, National Coordinator of the Ukraine Civil Society Response, says hosting has reduced pressure on the rental market:
