Two families from Longford will be on our TV screens tonight as they take part in efforts to reduce their impact on the environment.
Karen Reilly and her son Mack from Ardagh along with the Mulvihills from Newtowncashel will feature on RTE'S environmental show What Planet Are You On? presented by Maia Dunphy
The show will also feature two other families from Dublin and Limerick.
Over the course of four weeks, with the support and help of experts, each household will learn where they are going wrong by taking on challenges to make improvements inside and outside of their home.
Their water, waste, energy and food habits will come under the scrutiny of data collectors that record every detail of the family's day from a social distance.
There is also €5,000 up for grabs for the most improved household over the 4 week period.
The programme begins at 6.30 on RTE 1 this evening.
