Tributes have been paid to the man who died in a workplace accident in County Longford yesterday. Shane Carrigy was aged in his 40s when he died following the incident in the Ballinalee area. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at around 11.50am yesterday morning. Mr Carrigy was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mullingar Regional Hospital. The HSA says it's aware of the incident and has launched an investigation. Local councillor Colin Dalton says the community has been plunged into sadness:
