Tributes paid to Ballaghaderreen businessman following his untimely death

His funeral will take place in St Nathy’s Cathedral in Ballaghaderreen on Saturday at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Kilcolman cemetery.

Well known Ballaghaderreen businessman, James Cunniffe, has died at the age of 60.

He ran a butcher shop, called Cunniffe’s, in the west Roscommon town for many decades and their produce won many awards.

A former GAA footballer, he died in Mayo Hospice in Castlebar on Tuesday after a short illness.

His funeral will take place in St Nathy’s Cathedral in Ballaghaderreen on Saturday at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Kilcolman cemetery.

His friend Fr Vincent Sherlock has been paying tribute.
