Trial of former Roscommon school principal continues today

The trial began on Tuesday at Sligo Courthouse.

The trial of a former Roscommon school principal continues today in connection with alleged theft and false accounting offences.

Frank Chambers, of Carnacregg, Moylough, Co Galway has pleaded not guilty to a total of 34 charges which include eight counts of false accounting and 26 charges of theft.

Roscommon Circuit Court heard the alleged offences occurred on dates between 2011 and 2017  and they are associated with the school's meals programme and the canteen operated at Roscommon Community College between those dates.

The trial continues today at Sligo Courthouse.
