Teachers union ASTI wants staggered re-opening for schools

Concern continues about the possible impact of Covid when schools re-open in the coming days

Education officials, union representatives and management bodies will meet today to discuss Covid rates in schools.

The Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland say it is deeply concerned the Minister for Education may re-open schools without putting in place additional safety measures to deal with the virus.

The ASTI is calling for staggered re-opening dates at at time when many staff are isolating.
