Suicide prevention organisations in the Shannonside region are appealing to people in difficulty to reach out for support.
Counsellors are available over the Christmas period for people who are struggling with issues during the holidays.
Pamela Devaney from Leitrim based, North West STOP which covers the entire Border and Midlands region says they have seen an increase in young people access their services in the last month.

She says Christmas is not always merry and bright for some people especially with the added pressure of a pandemic this year.
