A school in south Roscommon has this week moved one step closer to commencing a major building project. Brideswell National School had previously sought permission for the conversion of its existing three-classroom building into a two-classroom Special Education Needs base. The Board of Management at Brideswell National School has submitted its final proposal to the Department of Education in recent days.
The development would see the construction of a connecting single-story mainstream three-classroom extension to the rear of the existing school. A new AstroTurf pitch and hard and soft play areas would also be part of the development. Principal Orla Fogarty says the development would future proof the school for the local community:
