Ice cream sales are going through the roof in Longford town, according to a local newsagent.
Pat Mollaghan runs Donlon's in the town and says the sun has increased footfall in the area.
Temperatures are expected to soar, with some parts of the Shannonside region to experience up to 29 degrees Celsius today.

The top temperature nationally yesterday was in Mount Dillon in Roscommon, at 27 degrees.
