Further funding is needed to develop a daycare centre for those with Alzheimer's and dementia in Roscommon.
A site has now been secured for the proposed Western Alzheimer's centre at Hawthorne Drive in the town.
Planning permission was secured for the purpose-built facility last year.
There are plans for a sensory garden and other amenities while the initial build will include family support facilities, dementia advisory services and office space.
Completion of the project is subject to funding and a charity walk is planned for St Stephen's Day.
