Traffic restrictions will be in place in several Shannonside towns this afternoon, due to a major cycling event.
The first stage of Rás Tailteann will pass through Carrigallen, Mohill and Carrick-on-Shannon, before finishing in Boyle.
It’s the first time in 31 years the event has finished in the north Roscommon town.
There’ll be traffic restrictions in Co Leitrim between 2 o’clock and 4pm and rolling road closures on the N61 in Boyle between 3 and 3.45.
Dorothy Shannon, from King House Tea Rooms in Boyle, says the event is a big boost:
