Crude oil prices have risen above 114-dollars a barrel for the first time since 2022. 

A Roscommon-Galway TD is calling for carbon tax to be abolished due to the Iran war.

Crude oil prices have risen above 114-dollars a barrel for the first time since 2022.

It's in response to the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most critical chokepoints for oil and gas shipments, staying effectively closed.

US President Donald Trump claims the sharp increase is "a small price to pay for global security."

Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice, from Independent Ireland, says diesel prices are soaring - and government action is needed:
