A blind man from Castlerea says he now avoids Roscommon town because it's a 'disaster' for anyone with a visual impairment.
Pearse Bolger says he used to visit Roscommon town frequently, but hasn't been there since Christmas - mainly because he doesn't feel safe.
Roscommon County Council says it is working to improve conditions for all vulnerable road users throughout the county.

Mr Bolger has only 13 per cent vision in one eye and none in the other - he says more work is needed.
