A debate is to take place in the Dail today on bed capacity in hospitals after it was secured by the regional Independents group convened by Roscommon/Galway TD Denis Naughten.
The Dáil will hear claims that hospitals won't be able to cope this winter unless urgent action's taken immediately.
Denis Naughten says hospitals have been forced to reduce bed capacity by up to 10 per cent to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The Independent TD says hospitals have consistently had more than 100 people on trolleys since the start of this month.
