A Roscommon publican says it may be a year before pubs life is back to normal with full socialising.
Seamus Hayden of Down the Hatch in Roscommon town that while he would like to have seen wet pubs re-open for Christmas, it wasn’t a realistic prospect given the trends of the spread of Covid 19 within the community.
Mr Hayden says that while many may not re-open the he disagrees that the pandemic and restrictions will be the beginning of the end of pubs as we know them.
Seamus Hayden expects that while they may get to re-open at some stage in the New Year, it will be after a vaccine and perhaps a full year before they are back to some level of normality.
