Roscommon people dying before getting house grants, as delays slammed

Cathaoirleach Liam Callaghan says the delays are unacceptable.

Elderly people in Roscommon have died while waiting up to two years for home-energy upgrades.

You can apply to the SEAI for works on your house, such as insulation and new windows and doors.

But this week's Roscommon County Council meeting was told there are long delays in the money coming through.

Independent councillor Tony Ward says some people have to wait two years:

The council has agreed to write to the SEAI about the issue.
