The owner of a Roscommon nursing home, which saw a major outbreak of Covid last year, is hopeful rules for residential settings will be eased once the most vulnerable get their second dose of the vaccine.

A significant outbreak of the virus last May led to several deaths and multiple positive Covid tests among staff and residents at the Sonas-run Cloverhill Nursing Home.

Owner Seamus Crawley says he is glad to see the back of 2020 - and last week welcomed HSE staff into vaccinate staff and residents - including a 105-year-old woman.
