The chief executive of the Rose of Tralee, Roscommon man Anthony O'Gara, is to miss this year's festival.
The Irish Examiner reports the Scramogue man was taken to hospital in recent days.
A spokesperson for the festival says O'Gara is currently recovering from cardiac bypass surgery.

As a result, Mr O'Gara will not be able to perform any duties at this year's event - the main part of which starts tomorrow.
