Roscommon and Leitrim record highest number of empty homes nationwide

More than four percent of houses nationally are empty, according to a new study.

A report by GeoDirectory shows Donegal, Mayo, Roscommon and Leitrim have the highest vacancy rate, with more than one in 10 homes empty.

Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow and Waterford meanwhile have the lowest rates.

More than 21,000 new addresses were added to the GeoDirectory database in 2020 - a seven percent increase in a year.
