Roscommon has country's third highest rate of road deaths

According to the Irish Independent, only Mayo and Donegal have had more road deaths than Roscommon this year, per capita. 

Roscommon has recorded the third highest rate of road deaths in the country this year, on a population basis.

Five people have died in crashes in the Shannonside region this year - four in Roscommon and one in Leitrim.

Longford is the only county in Ireland that has avoided a road-death this year.

A total of 139 people have died in collisions around the country this year - two more than for the same period last year.
