Roscommon Garda investigating attempted robbery at supermarket

Gardaí in Roscommon are investigating an attempted robbery at a supermarket in the county town.

A man is said to have entered the premises shortly after 8 o' clock yesterday evening, armed with a hammer, and proceeded to demand money from staff.

Gardaí say no injuries were reported in relation to the incident, and nothing was taken from the premises.

Investigations are said to be ongoing.
